ہم نے نوح کو ان کی قوم کی طرف پیغمبر بنا کر بھیجا اور وہ ساڑھے نو سو برس ان لوگوں میں رہے. آخرکار نافرمانیوں کے سبب ان لوگوں کو ایک سخت طوفان نے آن لیا اور وہ سب کے سب ہلاک ہو گئے.کتب تواریخ و تفسیر میں لکھا ہے کہ اللہ تعالی نے حضرت نوح کو بہترین صفات سے موصوف کیا تھا۔ پہلی صفت یہ کہ آپ اولوالعزم پیغمبر تھے۔ یعنی آپ کو شریعت جداگانہ ملی تھی ۔ ان سے پہلے انبیاءحضرت شیث اور حضرت ادریس   السلام حضرت آدم علیہ السلام کی شریعت پر چلتے  ۔ دوسری یہ کہ آپ کو آدم ثانی کا لقب حضور رب العالمین سے ہوا کیونکہ آپ سے اس عالم انسانی کی  دوبارہ پیدائش ہوئی۔ تیسری صفت یہ کہ آپ   اہل زمین پر مبعوث تھے ۔اپنی ہفت اقلیم پر آپ اکیلے نبی بنا کر بھیجے گئے تھے  ۔ چوتھی صفت یہ  کہ سب سے پہلے اس عالم میں جس نے بت پرستی سے لوگوں کو ڈرایا اور منع کیا وہ حضرت نوح علیہ السلام تھے۔

We sent Noah as a prophet to his people, and he lived among them for nine and a half hundred years. Finally, due to their disobedience, a severe storm hit these people and they all perished. It is written in the books of Tawarikh and Tafsir that Allah Ta'ala described Noah with the best qualities. The first attribute is that he was the first prophet. In other words, you had received a separate Sharia law. Before them, Prophets Hazrat Sheth and Hazrat Idris (peace be upon them) followed the law of Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him). The second is that you got the title of Adam II from the Lord of the Worlds, because this human world was reborn from you. The third attribute is that you were sent to the people of the earth. You were sent alone as a prophet to your seven climates. The fourth attribute is that the first person in this world who warned and forbade people from idolatry was Hazrat Noah (peace be upon him).
